Anyone who has not heard of the big environmental debate that has been going on in Washington and other major capitals around the world must simply be living on another planet.
Why is it a big issue? Well, let’s consider some facts. The world population has increased tenfold in the past two centuries. But the way each person uses environmental resources has also increased tenfold. Just look at the number of cars that are now in use worldwide, or the number of people flying, or how many cell phones and computers there are and how they use energy. Washing machines. Dryers. Buildings that need heating and electricity. The list goes on and on and on.
Meanwhile, how much have the Earth’s resources increased over the past 200 years or so? None. Zero, Zilch.
What that means is that every decent human being should re-consider how he or she is using energy and how our behavior can change.
Let’s start with our home or office. One clear way our lifestyle has changed over the decades is how we use wall-to-wall carpeting. That simply was not the case before. With that has come the need to clean our carpets, which we cannot just unscrew or un-glue to take out for fresh air.
What do we do? We hire carpet cleaning companies to come wash and dry our carpets. Up until very recently, they used detergents and chemicals that, mostly, were harmful to the carpet and, by extension, its occupiers.
The cleaning industry in Utah’s green carpet cleaning has joined the environmental movement by changing its ways.
Utah green cleaners have become more of a norm. There are many green carpet cleaning operations in Salt Lake City, which does not imply that green cleaners in Utah are only limited to the state capital. Green cleaners in Utah are now everywhere.
